FIREFIGHTERS from Thornbury and Bedminster have freed a horse after it got trapped in a horsebox in Tytherington.
Crews from Thornbury together with the Bedminster-based specialist animal rescue unit were called this morning (Friday) after Slim the horse became trapped in his transporter.
A vet sedated Slim before firefighters began their rescue attempt.
After cutting part of the back of the vehicle away to create more room for Slim to be pulled out from, the horse was eventually freed.
Bloodied Slim was then checked-over by a vet and reportedly suffered no serious injuries.
