A 35-YEAR-OLD man from Thornbury has appeared in court today charged with assaulting three people, including a 75-year-old man.

Jerome Murray, of Market Square, Thornbury, was charged with three counts of assault, following incidents on Friday, which saw a 26-year-old man attacked at Thornbury Leisure Centre, and a 75-year-old man and 23-year-old woman attacked on Thornbury High Street.

The incidents took place between 4pm and 4.30pm

Police say the 26-year-old man suffered cuts and bruising, the older man suffered cuts, bruising and a nose bleed after being knocked to the floor.

The woman was uninjured but shocked and distressed after being spat at.

Murray appeared before Bristol Magistrates Court today, but the case has been adjourned until November 10 for “fact-finding” purposes.
