A 31-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with a total of 29 counts of rape.
Andy Anokye, of Millennium Promenade, Bristol, who is also known by the stage name ’Solo 45’, was originally charged in July with two counts of rape along with one count each of false imprisonment and of causing Actual Bodily Harm.
He previously appeared at Bristol Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to the four original charges and a trial was set to start today
The original charges related to one victim but since the court appearance three more victims have come forward and police have charged Mr Anokye with a further 27 counts of rape – bringing the total to 29.
The trial has now been adjourned until April 16 next year.
Detectives have said they are still keen to speak to anyone who may be able to offer information which may assist an on-going investigation concerning Mr Anokye.
