APPLICATIONS have opened for a series of grants, available to community organisations in Thornbury through the town council.
Thornbury Town Council supports a wide variety of organisations with grants being used to fund both revenue and capital projects, core costs, specific, project work as well as providing “in kind” support.
Applications are particularly welcomed from small or newly formed groups and those that have not applied before, with the amount available varying each year, depending on the overall council budget.
The deadline for applications is December 1.
In previous years, the funds have been used to support the likes of Citizens Advice, Thornbury Carnival and Arts Festival, the Christmas Lights Switch On, Thornbury in Bloom and Thornbury Museum as well as youth work and the activities of a wide range of smaller groups and organisations supporting Thornbury’s community and environment.
Small grants are awarded for smaller amounts and are normally offered on a one off basis to support a particular project, event, activity or the purchase of equipment.
Further information about the grants process and application forms can be downloaded from the Town Council website www.thornburytowncouncil.gov.uk or can be picked up from the Town Hall.
