IT is so easy in this day and age for rumours to spiral out of control and the debate that was struck up by mere changes to toilets at Christ the King Primary School in Thornbury.

People are so inclined nowadays to jump straight to their computers and have their say on rumours they have heard before they are in possession of all the facts and it is one of the most dangerous aspects of social media.

The fact that a number of people hopping on the bandwagon might not even be parents of pupils at the school also gives rise for concern as, despite being entitled to their own opinion, the do not have a vested interest in the school.

But realistically, the school should have seen something like this coming.
Letting young children, who could quite innocently not understand what boys and girls sharing toilets could sound like to their parents.

While leaders at Christ the King say that they did present parents with the chance to see plans at the parent forum, not every parents would be there so many would still be uninformed.
