A 28-YEAR-OLD man was arrested in Thornbury during Thornbury Round Table’s fireworks display after three special constables were assaulted.
Police were called to reports of an incident on St Mary Street in Thornbury at around 7.45pm on Saturday.
A number of eyewitnesses have said that upon leaving the show, they saw a naked man running around on the high street, some speculating that he was inebriated, with one even claiming to see him "brandishing knuckledusters".
A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a special police constable, but has since been released under investigation with police enquiries into the incident continuing.
The Avon and Somerset Special Constables Twitter account put out two tweets following the arrest suggesting the arrest was also for robbery.
