Parents in big protest

5:14pm Monday 21st May 2001

PARENTS from Bromley converged on London to protest at the level of sex and violence in television and film.

Mediamarch3 took place on Saturday with parents from all over the country taking their protest from St James' Park to Trafalgar Square in an attempt to force the Government to change the laws regarding levels of decency in films and television.

The organisation has managed to gather 24,000 signatures in a national petition to call for stronger obscenity laws.

A spokesman for the Bromley group said: “We want to see the Government reverse the drastic decline in standards of taste and decency which has crept in to the media.”
