Healthwatch South Gloucestershire, a subsidiary of Healthwatch England, is asking people across the county to complete an online survey on mental health and emotional wellbeing – having extended the deadline to next Thursday (31).

For a more in-depth look at mental health issues in the area, the group, working in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council, is also urging volunteers to come forward and participate in one-on-one interviews.

Healthwatch South Gloucestershire project coordinator Caroline McAleese said the questionnaire and appeal for volunteers came as part of a new mental health strategy for the county.

She said: “All of the results are going to be fed into the new strategy. We’re asking people about their mental health services and how they feel they could be improved.

“We’re also asking for positive stories about mental health services in the area.”
