YOUNGSTERS in Yate have enjoyed free fun sessions this summer thanks to the town council.
The annual summer playscheme, run by Children’s Playlink and funded by Yate Town Council, has been running close to capacity at Yate Parish Hall for the past few weeks.
Yate mayor Cllr Wully Perks visited the scheme on Monday (August 18) to see children playing games and preparing for a talent show which they will perform to parents this week.
He said: “It was a lovely happy atmosphere. Children really love it.
“What is particularly nice is that some of the children would do not have much in the way of a holiday really look forward to it.
“The staff are brilliant and involve all the children and we the town council are very happy to pay for it each year.”
