POLICE are appealing for help from the public to help them track down a prisoner who absconded from HMP Leyhill this morning.
Darren Williams, 32, left the prison this morning after he had been provided with medication he takes for anxiety at about 8.30am.
Williams is described as a white man, 6ft 9ins tall of slim build with brown eyes and a shaven head. He is clean shaven and speaks with a Welsh accent. He has tattoos on his left hand, wrist and arm.
He was in prison for robbery and theft offences, committed in Wales.
He has links with Glyncoed and Tredegar in Gwent but may still be in the South Gloucestershire area.
Williams may appear subdued and anxious.
Anyone who may have spotted him is advised not to approach him but to call the police on 999.
