AN NHS group which covers South Gloucestershire will be holding its first ever Annual General Meeting (AGM) later this month.

NHS South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting local people to attend the meeting.

The CCG – which is responsible for planning, buying and monitoring local NHS services – will be reflecting on its first year as a statutory body and its future plans.

The organisation’s first ever Annual Report and Annual Accounts will be presented during the meeting.

Copies of the CCG’s Annual Report and Annual Accounts and its draft Five Year Strategy – which describes areas to change and develop local health services, the CCG’s approach, and the benefits to patients – will be available for the public.

There will also be an opportunity for people to ask the CCG’s Governing Body, which includes several local GPs, questions about healthcare in South Gloucestershire.

Dr Jonathan Hayes, Chairman of South Gloucestershire CCG, said: “We encourage people to come to our AGM and find out more about local health services.

“The past year has been one of laying strong foundations – the year ahead will be an exciting challenge as we work with our partners to transform the local health and care system.”

The presenters at the AGM are: Dr Jonathan Hayes, chairman; Jane Gibbs, chief officer; Simon Bowker, deputy chief finance officer; and Dr Kate Mansfield, clinical lead for children and maternity.

The AGM will take place at Cleve Rugby Club, Mangotsfield on Wednesday, September 24 from 2pm until 3.30pm.

People who want to attend should contact Lucy Jones, Corporate Support Officer at the CCG, on 0117 947 4426, or at lucy.jones@southgloucestershireccg.nhs.uk no later than Thursday, 18 September.
