The learning disability charity is celebrating after their one-day pop up market in Bristol’s Cabot Circus raised over £2,900 to help fund their work in the region.

Last Friday’s (October 3) market, sold products produced at different enterprise workshops run by Brandon Trust, was opened by TV duo Tom and Henry Herbert, of.

It proved popular with shoppers throughout the day with Bristol Mayor George Ferguson and Bristol East MP Kerry McCarthy among the visitors.

In the week leading up to market day, 100 members of staff from law firm Burges Salmon volunteered alongside people with learning disabilities to make the products being sold.

One of the Brandon Trust enterprises involved was Fired Up ceramics studio in Pucklechurch. The money collected will be invested back into the project and the others run by the charity.

Brandon Trust organiser Erin Lawton said: “There was a great buzz at the market. It went really well and was a great opportunity to showcase what we do and the quality of the products our enterprises produce.

“The week leading up to the event was also a great success with our teams working together successfully on each site with fantastic support from the Burges Salmon volunteers.

“It is hoped we can do a similar event again next year and build on this first market.”
