NEW Retail and community facilities and thousands of jobs could be on the way at The Mall.

The owners of the shopping centre in Cribbs Causeway will host a public exhibition at the end of this month to gather feedback for their investment proposals.

The exhibition will be held during half term, on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25 to consult with shoppers and the public on their proposals.

Plans of the area and visuals of the potential development will be on display around the central stairway by the restaurants on the upper level of The Mall and staff will be on hand to answer questions.

The plans include, developing new retail, leisure, restaurants and community spaces at the site as more than 8,000 new homes are planned for the area.

A large new public space is also proposed which will allow Cribbs to develop its events programme with community activities, markets and performances.

Thousands of permanent jobs would result from the investment and improvements to public transport facilities, cycle and pedestrian routes are also set out.

Philip Vaughan of M&G Real Estate, who part own The Mall, said: “We really hope to see lots of people on 24 and 25 October when we can show the local community and our valued customers an exciting vision for the future of their area.

“In particular, we want to invite ideas for the outdoor event space we’re seeking to create – to be able to shape that space to meet the needs of the community it is intended for.”

The exhibition will be open at the following times:

Friday 24 October - 12pm – 6pm

Saturday 25 October – 11am – 4pm

A website about the development proposals is also under construction. Further information will be available on mallcribbs.com.
