THE new sixth form link-up between the three secondary schools covering Yate and Chipping Sodbury is holding its first open evening.
Cotswold Edge Sixth Form is the name given to the collaboration between Brimsham Green School in Yate, Chipping Sodbury School and Yate International Academy (YIA).
Brimsham Green and Chipping Sodbury already work together to provide sixth form provision for teenagers but from
September 2015 it will also include YIA.
The open evening for prospective students is on Thursday, October 16, running from 6.30pm-8pm at YIA. Future open days will be held at the other schools in rotation.
Brimsham Green head teacher, Kim Garland, said: "This marks a really significant step forward in our locality in responding to the Education Commission’s report, which urged schools to work better together to improve post-16 education and outcomes, which is exactly what Cotswold Edge will deliver."
