PREPARATIONS are being finalised for the annual service of remembrance in Yate when the town will come together to recognise the sacrifices made in both world wars and other conflicts.
The service will be held in St Mary's church on Sunday, November 9, after a parade from Poole Court.
The procession is due to set off at 9.30am and go along Poole Court Drive, Home Orchard, Station Road and Church Road, to arrive at the church in time for a 10am service.
Afterwards, wreaths will be laid at the church lych gate and at the Parnall grave, which honours the 55 members of staff who were killed when two bombs were dropped on the town's former Parnall aircraft factory during the Second World War.
Thousands of people are expected to watch the parade and laying of wreaths, with hundreds set to be inside the church.
Any organisation that wants to get involved should contact Yate Town Council by October 24.
