TEENAGER Louis Cowell lost all his locks when he decided to have his head shaved in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The 13-year-old hopes to eventually raise more than £300 as a result of the drastic hair cut, with plenty of support coming from his classmates at Brimsham Green School in Yate, other students and staff.

Louis and his sister Liv, 14, lost their mum, Melanie, to breast cancer nearly ten years ago and have been supporters of the charity ever since.

With their dad, Andy, they have staged various events to give a boost to the campaign to to fund research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Both are keen singers and performers, having appeared in talent shows and productions, and coming from a musical family have been brought up singing along with their guitar-playing father at their Iron Acton home.

It was Andy who was in charge of the clippers when Louis's hair fell to the ground at his school, taking just a couple of minutes to give his son his new look.
