DELIBERATE barn fires in Chipping Sodbury have led to police warning people to be on alert.
Farmers and landowners are asked to be aware of the arson activity after three deliberate barn fires were reported yesterday morning.
The fires were started sometime around 2am, with the first at Ten Acre Farm on Horton Road where a stone barn was destroyed, including 350 bales of hay and a number of cars and farm vehicles.
The second was at a nearby barn in Colts Green. An empty caravan was set alight which then spread to the barn. The barn, farm machinery and vehicles inside were all destroyed.
A short time afterwards a third fire was reported at Ostland Farm in Wapley Road in Codrington, resulting in another barn and its contents being destroyed.
Avon and Somerset constabulary are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles or people in the area or has information about the arsons. Call 101 quoting reference number 117280/14.
