INQUESTS into the deaths of a man and woman who were found in a house in Yate are unlikely to be opened until later this month.

Police had been called to the house in Cherington, off Shire Way, yesterday morning just after 11am.

They found the two bodies inside and later said they were treating their deaths as unexplained. However, it is believed the deaths are not thought to be suspicious.

All the emergency services attended the scene and South Western Ambulance Service sent a hazardous incident response team as a precaution.

A spokesman for the service said a 46-year-old man and a woman had been found dead at the property.

An investigation is continuing to establish how they died and police said a post mortem examination would be unlikely to be completed until next week.

An inquest to be opened for identification purposes could take place at the end of November.

Meanwhile access into and out of Cherington is now back to normal after the street had initially been cordoned off.
