TRIBUTES have been left for a couple believed to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning after being found dead at their home in Yate.

Police were called to a house in Cherington, off Shire Way, Yate just after 11am last Thursday, where they discovered the bodies of the pair named locally as Jon and Deborah Coster.

Tributes are being left on social media for the husband and wife - both aged 46 – whose deaths have been described as unexplained but not suspicious.

Catherine Coster posted on Facebook: “I really want to thank all family members and friends who have been so kind to us since the news of Jon and Debbie's death.

“We are so shocked and very sad but have been comforted by the fact that so many people, many more than we knew, had such a high regard for Jon and Debbie and so we want to thank you for all your photos and messages of condolence and comfort.

"We also believe even through the horror of this event that they are held in God's love and are at peace.”

Jason Green wrote: “Lost one of my life long friends can't describe how much it hurts RIP Jon Coster and Debbie.”

Mr Coster worked for The Milestones Trust, a charity that supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia in Bristol.

Colleague Tina Louise Locke-Harries posted on Facebook: “We will certainly miss him at work. Still can’t believe it, still in shock.”

The property was attended by all the emergency services and South Western Ambulance Service sent a hazardous incident response team as a precaution.

A police spokesman said: “At around 11.10am we were called to a property in Cherington in Yate.

“The bodies of a man and a woman were found inside. The deaths are being treated as unexplained.

“An investigation has started to establish what has happened and enquiries are ongoing.”
