A DESIGNER is looking for donations to help display her work in the Control Room of Redcliffe Bridge in Bristol.

Lisa Alcock, 28, is hoping to raise £650 so she can set up a lighting installation in the Control Room.

She is looking for contributions so she can make the installation as spectacular as possible when it is installed on Wednesday, January 28.

Miss Alcock has completed an access to art course at City of Bristol and a surface design degree at Somerset College.

She lives in Bristol and owns a start up business, called Lumiscopic, and hopes to raise the money to create the installation.

Miss Alcock said: “I applied to Bristol Creative to set up a lighting installation in their exhibition space, the Control Room and found out in November I could fill the space. It has a very industrial and desolate feel about it, which I want to eradicate by installing some Lumiscopic dichroic lighting.

“My lighting is created using high quality, low energy LED light sheets and 3M dichroic technologies. The lighting won't be visible in daylight, but it will gradually blossom into a vibrant array of colours as the daylight reduces into night.”

The Control Room has a 360 degree panoramic view and is situated on Bristol’s floating harbour, and her project, called Underwater Entities, would be on view for the public until Wednesday, February 4.

Miss Alock said: “I'm really excited about the opportunity to create a public installation that can be enjoyed by the people of Bristol and beyond, and hopefully bring a smile to someones face.

“I'm feeling really positive about the amount raised so far, I would love to keep the momentum up. I've had lots of great responses which could lead to some future projects so I'm really excited about that.”
