POLICE have launched an investigation following the death of a man in Bristol.
They were called at just after 7.30pm on Saturday (December 20), to reports that a man had fallen off the Avon Gorge, near Circular Road on Clifton Down.
The body of a 28-year-old man was found a short time later close to the Portway.
His death is currently being treated as suspicious and a scene watch is in place while a full and thorough investigation is carried out.
Det insp Louise Boyce said: “A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the man’s death and is in custody for questioning.
“We’re appealing for anyone who was on the Clifton Down or Circular Road between 7pm and 7.30pm on Saturday to call us with any information which could assist our ongoing inquiry.”
