THE Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury is reminding people to check their blood pressure and attend their awareness event later this year to learn more.

The annual ‘Know Your Blood Pressure Day’ event held in Chipping Sodbury will return on Saturday, April 11.

The club hosts the event to raise awareness of blood pressure as a significant health threat if undetected and therefore untreated.

During the event a team of doctors and nurses will offer a free blood pressure check and advice to any member of the public between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Rotarian Dr Tim Spare said: “There are clear benefits from ‘Know Your Blood Pressure Day’ which raises public awareness of the importance of monitoring your blood pressure and adopting a healthy life style, taking corrective action as soon as possible can be a lifesaver.”

The club has three doctors amongst its ranks, supported by other medical professionals they provide tests throughout the day.

Morning shoppers and visitors to the town are encouraged to take advantage of the service and friendly advice.

This year’s event will take place at 61 Broad Street, Chipping Sodbury, next to the Town Hall.
