THE VOICES of young people have been heard and acknowledged in Yate with the town council raising a considerable amount of money to make massive improvements to the Witches Hat play area.

After commissioning a youth survey last year, and discovering that there was a strong desire for additional wheels play facilities in the area, Yate Town Council chose to address this by raising an amazing £148,000 to fund refurbishments.

Within the next four months the play area, on Westerleigh Road, will undergo a transformation thanks to the hard work of motivated individuals who have remembered to acknowledge the desires of young residents.

With so many causes and groups in need of money, it is easy to for projects such as the play area to be overlooked.

South Gloucestershire Council, Yate Town Council and other contributors will be thanked for providing for the young people and creating a public space that can be enjoyed by many.

Although the money raised is undeniably substantial, the long-standing repercussions of the refurbishment will be priceless.

Not only will the new equipment attract young people and bring together friends and family in an active environment, the refurbishments will visually improve the area and give Yate residents a public space to be proud of.

We highly anticipate, with others, the official opening of the completed Witches Hat play area later this year.
