A CHARITY for deafblind people is calling for volunteers to muck in at this year's Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.

Sense, the national charity for deafblind people, is calling for volunteers to help out with a host of activities, including charming the wellies off of visitors during the bucket collection during the event in May.

Volunteers will get free entry to the event, which is normally £28, as well as a refreshment voucher.

Free camping is also on offer during the days that volunteers participate.

The national charity supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind or have sensory impairments, by providing provides specialist information, advice and services.

Sue Piper, head of corporate fundraising at Sense, said: "This is a very prestigious event and we are thrilled to be a part of it as this year's official charity.

"We rely heavily on volunteers at Sense, and I hope lots of people will come forward to help with what is sure to be a fantastic day out.

"For horse lovers in particular, it is a wonderful event to volunteer at."

The trials are known as one of the world’s most prestigious equestrian events and every year Badminton has a dedicated charity, with Sense being the chosen charity for 2015.

This year’s trials will take place in Badminton from Wednesday, May 6 to Sunday, May 10.

If you would like to volunteer for one day, or even the entire event, email the Sense corporate team at corporateteam@sense.org.uk or call 020 7014 9347.
