MEMBERS of the Sodbury and Yate Business Association (SYBA) came together for an annual meeting to celebrate their achievements over the past year.

SYBA held their annual general meeting on Monday, February 9 at Chipping Sodbury Golf Club to reflect on the association’s work and successful events, including the business breakfast, speed networking, small business Saturday displays and other social events.

SYBA held various events over 2014 to provide opportunities for local businesses to promote themselves, build strong local networks and to help and support their local community and a sharp rise in membership was celebrated at the meeting.

A full range of businesses are represented within the group, from sole trader to national companies such as Marks and Spencer and Waitrose and 30 members attended the annual meeting.

Linda Banister, unanimously voted to lead SYBA as joint chairperson with Tracy Francksen, of Red Door Coaching and Training, said: “Tracy and I are delighted to hold the post of chairperson for a third year.

“SYBA faces a busy year ahead, there is already a number of events planned including our Business Breakfast in June.

“The group will be continuing its community involvement with initiatives like the Chipping Sodbury Parish Plan and we have chosen Yate Food Bank as our charity for this year.

“2015 promises to be an exciting year for the members of SYBA.”

The next meeting will be held at Chipping Sodbury Golf Club on Monday, March 9, with networking from 5.30pm and the meeting at 6pm.
