CONTROVERSY has been following a development in Yate since the word go – and this week it  seems to have escalated even further with accusations of breached planning conditions being thrown into the mix.

The development, on the former site of Rodford Primary School, involving the building of 57 new houses, has faced opposition, primarily revolving around protecting wildlife, ever since the developers proposed the project.

The latest backlash has seen residents claim they have witnessed the developers breaching conditions and now the accusation of illegal behaviour has been raised, the controversy has hit a new high.

It is time for an intense and thorough investigation.

Surely, there can only be so much controversy in a single development before something is done.

Unless there is a proper investigation, objectors will cause more aggravation and waste more time for the developers.

Despite council assurance that the developers have not breached conditions it is fairly clear that the objectors will not just go away quietly.

The opposition has proved they are fiercely committed to making sure the wildlife is protected and will not back down until they have proof that both the council and the developers are as committed to the environment as they are.
