A CAMPAIGN to encourage office workers to get active and raise vital funds for cardiovascular disease has been launched in the South West.
New statistics have shown that 45 per cent of office workers in the South West spend less than 30 minutes a day walking around at work, so Get Britain Standing is partnering with the British Heart Foundation to launch the UK’s first On Your Feet Britain campaign on April 24, encouraging workers to ditch their office chairs and raise vital funds for cardiovascular disease.
Offices are being challenged to find inventive ways of getting employees on their feet, such as holding walking meetings as part of the campaign, funded by Active Working Community Interest Company (CIC).
Gavin Bradley, founder of Active Working CIC and Get Britain Standing, said: “On Your Feet Britain is a fun event which could help you burn more calories, help to reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease and help fund more life-saving breakthroughs in the fight against this disease.”
