POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Stockwood yesterday afternoon (April 19).
Shortly before 5.45pm on Stockwood Lane, Bristol, a Ford Mondeo estate, which was travelling in the direction of Staunton Lane, was in collision with a Ford Escort van.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the van, a 73-year-old man from the Bristol area, died from the injuries he sustained.
Following initial police enquiries, two people were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Both have subsequently been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Anyone who was driving along this road at the time of the collision and witnessed either vehicle prior to the incident or the collision itself, is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 101.
