FREE family legal advice sessions are being offered to residents in Yate and surrounding areas by family solicitors.

Bevan Evemy Solicitors, who have just entered their first year of business based in Yate, have announced that they are working with Yate Library to provide people with top quality legal advice at no cost.

There are just two partners in the firm, in Northavon Business Centre on Dean Road, Lynn Bevan and Anne Evemy and the sessions will be held on the first Saturday of the month at Yate Library, kick-starting on Saturday.

Ms Bevan said: “We really want to get back to that old fashioned way where the solicitor is local and not just another business but part of the community.

“We will start initially with family and matrimonial and child matters but hope to expand the free sessions to cover employment and other areas in the future.

“The library have kindly offered us one of the rooms there for the advice sessions.

“If you need legal advice and worried about the costs please give us a call or come to one of free advice sessions at Yate Library.”

The solicitors approached prospective MP Steve Webb who has supported their offer of help in the community.

Mr Webb said: “I very often meet people in my constituency surgery who would benefit from qualified legal advice but who may not be able to afford expensive legal fees. I am delighted that Bevan Evemy Solicitors have offered to give free legal advice to local residents through monthly sessions in Yate."
