FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a seven-month-old dog stuck on a ledge above the River Avon.
At 12.54pm on Sunday, May 17 fire appliances from Bedminster and Temple Fire Stations responded to reports of a dog stuck on a ledge above the river.
Specialist rope rescue equipment was sent to the scene and upon arrival firefighters met the dog’s owner who pointed out Lennie, his seven-month-old German Shepherd dog who had fallen approximately 10 metres onto a ledge above the waterline.
Firefighters used specialist rope rescue techniques and lowered a firefighter down to the dog and and the pair were then hauled to safety.
Upon being rescued Lennie appeared to be s uninjured and was reunited with his owner.
