A RANGEWORTHY couple have not only opened the door to their new home but unlocked a new future at the same time.

No sooner had Beccy Eacott and Mike Hicks entered their new home at Waverley Grange than Mike, 31, went down on one knee, produced a ring and proposed.

Beccy, 27, a mortgage services consultant with estate agent Connells, accepted and the couple is looking forward to starting their new life together.

“There were tears of joy all round,” said Annie King Sharp, on-site sales consultant with Cotswold Homes which designed and built the new development of four four-bedroom homes.

Annie, who was in on Mike’s secret plan, then spoiled the couple with champagne, flowers and chocolates to help them celebrate.

Mike, who runs Country Cars and is a team manager with Rangeworthy Football Club, became aware of plans for Waverley Grange earlier this year when Cotswold Homes pitched in with new insulated substitute suits for use by club players during winter training sessions.
