PAINTINGS of Frenchay over the past 100 years are the subject of a new exhibition in the village.
Frenchay on Canvas illustrates the area’s history in paintings of Frenchay and the River Frome from the early 19th century to the mid 20th century.
Visitors to the exhibit, being displayed at Frenchay Village Museum, can view oil paintings by George and Henry Harris , who were prolific artists 100 years ago, as well as a picture by their sister Ethel.
It also includes a sketch by former England cricketer-turned-artist Jack Russell, who has an art gallery in Chipping Sodbury as well as a selection of postcards, most of which are 100 years old.
The exhibition runs until Wednesday, September 30 and is available to view during museum opening hours (Saturdays and Sundays 2-5pm and Wednesdays 1-4pm).
