STAFF and residents at a Merlin Housing Society home in Yate raised a mug in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Dozens of employees and residents at Kennedy House in Estoril enjoyed a coffee and a cake during the charity’s national event, the world’s biggest coffee morning, on Friday (September 25).
Together they raised £1,200 for Macmillan through the sale of a huge selection of home-baked cakes and a massive raffle.
Independent Living Services team leader Tracey Prosser said: “We’re absolutely ecstatic at how much we raised.
“Everyone had a great time and we raised so much money for such a good cause.
“We had loads of cakes made by staff, residents and their family and friends. I’d also like to thank all of the local businesses who were absolutely brilliant at donating prizes for the raffle and to all the residents and staff who donated things as well.”
Meanwhile staff at Merlin’s main office in Chipping Sodbury raised £200 from baking and selling cakes.
