FUNDRAISERS got themselves in a spin for a good cause during a hula hoop challenge in Yate.

Members of teams which compete in Cancer Research UK’s summer Relay for Life were at Yate Leisure Centre on Saturday (November 7) where collectively they continuously hula hooped for a whole hour.

Onlookers watched on as teams tried to keep up the hoops each for as long as possible.

Organiser Liam Craddock said: “The event went really well.

“We had a good sized crowd which probably reached 50 at one point with people joining us thought the hour.

“We have recruited some new teams from the event, which was all about raising awareness of Relay. And the icing on the cake is that we raised a rather healthy £250 which will go towards beating cancer sooner.”

Yate Relay for Life is a 24-hour event at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex, where one member of each team must remain on the track either walking, running or dancing around it at all times.

Registration for the 2016 event, on July 2 and 3, is now open. For more details or to sign up go to yaterelayforlife.org.uk
