POLICE are appealing for the public's help after a serious assault in Bristol.

The incident happened last Sunday (November 22) at 2.50am at Bar BSB on the waterfront.

The victim was punched in the side of his face by an unknown man.

As a result of the attack, the victim attended the Bristol Royal Infirmary and required an operation to insert metal plates into his jaw.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his early to mid-twenties, approximately six feet tall and of a medium build. He had short dark wavy hair and was wearing a dark body warmer with a blue T-shirt underneath, dark jeans and shoes.

A police spokesman said: "Several CCTV images of a man we would like to speak to in connection with this incident are attached.

"The suspect left the scene along the waterfront towards the city centre.

"He was in the company of a man. Both are described as having Irish accents."
