A MAN was taken to hospital with chest injuries after an accident near Wickwar which saw a tractor spill its load of manure.

The collision, between the tractor towing a trailer of liquid manure and a Vauxhall Insignia card, happened on the B4059 between Wickwar and Charfield at 1pm today.

A police spokesman said the manure was spilt all over the road.

He added: “A 41-year-old man was taken to Southmead Hospital complaining of chest injuries.”

There were delays in the area while the road was cleaned.
