The scheduled 6:41pm from Swindon to Gloucester is set to go ahead but with only two coaches instead of eight.
A spokesman for Great Western Railway has warned that there will be some alterations to services while the operator gets its trains and staff back in place.
Passengers were stranded for at least an hour as trains ground to a halt earlier tonight after heavy rains caused land to slide onto the tracks on the Kemble line causing cancellations and long delays.
