A POPULAR 5kilometre charity run will mark its 10th year when it takes place in Yate this weekend.

The St Mary’s 5K fun run will start and finish at St Mary’s Primary School this Saturday, June 25 (11am).

The race is open to men and women and also includes a youth and child section/ The route is a total of 5.6km and will take runners along paths, country lanes and over footbridges in and around Yate.

There will be a bar and refreshments will be available at the school and following the race there will be a presentation of prizes as well as stalls and a chance for visitors to have their photograph taken with Antique Rose, a statue from the Gromit Unleashed trail of 2013.

A raffle of prizes donated by local companies including Waitrose, Cineworld and Castle Combe Golf Club will also help raise money for the school.
