ONE LANE is currently closed on the M5 southbound while fire crews fight to contain a car that set alight.

Delays are expected while the firefighters secure the site, between junction 13 for Stroud and 14 for Thornbury.

The lane is expected to be opened again to traffic by 3.30pm.

Earlier this afternoon, two lanes on the M4 westbound were closed following a collision, causing  long delays between junctions 20 Almondsbury, and 21 for the M48.

Meanwhile, heavy traffic is expected all afternoon ahead of the school summer break, with the build-up expected to affect all directions along the M4 and M5.
