A GRAPHICS assistant from Yate is set to “baldly go” for a new look as she shaves her head for charity.

Carrie Brobin is set to take part in the “Brave the Shave” national fundraiser for MacMillan Cancer Support will have her head shaved at 6pm next Wednesday at Kings Barbers in Yate.

After finding out about the fundraiser through a work colleague two weeks ago, 43-year-old Carrie chose to literally jump in head first.

But while she said she “feels a bit mad” to have committed to the feat, she has had a “wonderfully positive” reaction from people she has told.

Speaking about why the cause means so much to her, Carrie said: “Over the years cancer has touched a lot of people I know, and being able to do something like this, however small, can make a difference.

“It is great to support MacMillan as the nurses they provide are fantastic, there should be more of them.

“In the end it is all about raising money. My original target was £250 but with the amount of pledges I have already had we have passed that, so now I would love to try and raise £500.

“People can just throw money at me if they like because it is all for a good cause!”
