- The anxious wait is over for thousands of students across the country today as they find out their A-level results. Students at Rednock School, KLB, Castle, Marlwood, Yate and Winterbourne International Academies, Brimsham and Chipping Sodbury are among those who hope to be celebrating.
- The percentage of students achieving an A or A* is expected to increase in subjects like maths. The number of boys achieving the very top grade could pull further ahead of girls due to a rise in take-up of maths.
- Chris Keates, general secretary of the NASUWT union, said that teachers and students had struggled to get to grips with new syllabuses which were brought in this year and could impact results.
