YOU HAVE to wonder sometimes what goes through the heads of vandals when you see the trail of destruction they leave in their wake.

In cases like the skate park in Yate, where unnecessary damage is caused to public property, not only is it a great inconvenience to those that use the facilities, but is outrageously ignorant to the community as a whole.

While we don’t yet know who did this, it is the kind of trouble that young people are always going to be branded with, and yet they are the ones to suffer because they are the people who are most likely to use the skate park.

It is at times like this where the community should come together, not only in disappointment, but in an attempt to ensure those responsible see justice.

The fact that someone decided it would be a good idea to set fire to the vehicle shows a complete lack of regard for the danger that they could have placed people in.

How unfair would you consider it to be if someone were to do the same thing, or worse, on your property?
