POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a blind man was robbed in South Gloucestershire on Wednesday.
The attack on the 53-year-old victim took place on Downend Road in Kingswood just after midnight.
The man had been walking home when he was approached by a number of men.
One of the group asked him for a cigarette, before grabbing his jacket.
The victim was then head-butted in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, at which point his pockets were searched and a packet of cigarettes were stolen, with the group then running off.
Officers have asked for anyone with information that could assist their inquiries to call 101 quoting crime reference number 5216204396.
