HUNDREDS of visitors were given the chance to enjoy talent from across the world at the weekend for the Yate International Festival.

The event, which was organised by Yate Heritage Centre, saw the village green transformed into a multicultural entertainment extravaganza, featuring a full array of international activities and entertainment, with many of the guests even taking part in the festivities.

Dancing and musical features at this year’s show included inspiration from West African, Indian, Chinese and even Irish cultures, with people of all ages and background getting up on Yate’s village green to dance.

The younger groups also played their part with international dancing performances including samba.

Also featuring this year were the Bluegrass and Hindu Puppet Theatre, as well as new additions including a variety of craft activities, including Chinese Calligraphy, Indian games and Sari dressing.

Visitors were also treated to a range of international delicacies including a variety of curries, as well as a wealth of traditional English food, which was well received, as were the opportunities to take tours of the Church throughout the afternoon.
