TRAGEDIES that affects a whole community are not common, and can often have quite an emotional impact, effecting even the most removed of us.

But what has been done by the friends and family of Lewis Evans in fundraising is nothing short of amazing.

With no more prompting than the urge to help, the fact that so many individuals and groups have risen to the challenge and involved themselves shows just how great the community is.

What must now be considered, as the original target is hit, is that the charitable feeling continues with those events yet to take place.

The family of Lewis have said that they do not know how much he will require until he is finally home and well, and while it is all well and good thinking that the job is done, there are plenty of potential obstacles yet to be crossed – and as such, additional funds could still be needed.

With so many original, fun and supportive events taking place in places like Thornbury and Almondsbury, it is important to remember that just because they take place at a later date, they are in no way less worthy of support – after all each one has been put together with Lewis in mind.
