HUNDREDS flocked to the Abbotswood Precinct in Yate last weekend for the Autumn Apple Day.

With plenty on offer, visitors were treated to giant outdoor games, willow wreath making, jam making and a wealth of apple-related activities including apple bobbing, apple pressing and a longest peel competition.

A number of stalls community groups and other organisations were also on hand giving information out to the public, including Avon and Somerset police, Yate Town Council, the Scouts, Hedgehog Rescue and cycling maintenance group Dr Bike.

Dog owners were also given the chance to put their furry friends on show with an array of competitions run by the Abbotswood Veterinary Centre.

Mary Wright from Abbotswood Action group said: β€œIt has been a very successful day, and I would really like to thank all the residents and groups who contributed.”
