ROADWORKS on the A4174 ring road next week will result in a string of overnight closures.
The resurfacing work being carried out by South Gloucestershire Council to the Bromley Heath roundabout will see the westbound carriageway closed between the Wick Wick roundabout and the Hambrook traffic lights from Monday, October 31 to Friday, November 18, between 8pm and 6am.
The eastbound carriageway will remain fully open during the roadworks, but with no access to Bromley Heath Road towards Downend.
Full diversion routes will be in place and will be clearly signed during the works, with both carriageways will remain open at weekends and all other times.
Once this work is completed, further overnight closures will be put in place for two weeks to resurface the eastbound carriageway towards Yate.
The work, which is part of the Challenge Fund project, will involve the removal of the existing road surface and the layering of a new one.
A spokesman for South Gloucestershire council apologised for any inconvenience or disruption caused, saying that the overnight closures are βto carry out this work as efficiently as possible and to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses.β
