IN 1987, a winning team from Chipping Sodbury carried off the top trophies at the BOCM Silcock Potbury region’s 16th annual pigeon shooting competition, held at The Berkeley Vale Hotel in Stone.
the shoot attracted over 40 farmers who competed in teams in a 25 bird contest.
The winning team made up of Vic Higgins – who achieved the highest individual score with 27 points, Dennis Higgins and Philip George, was entered by local merchants A. Nichols (Cow Mills) Ltd of Chipping Sodbury.
