VOLUNTEERS are invited to help clean up Chipping Sodbury this weekend as a part of a spring clean campaign.
The town’s Big Lunch committee has organised its second annual clean-up of Sodbury Common, to take place at 10am on Sunday, February 26.
Those wishing to take part are asked to meet at the gates to Sodbury Common on St John's Way, opposite Hatters Lane.
Alexandra Womack, chairman of Chipping Sodbury’s Big Lunch, said that all are welcome to join in and clear the common of litter.
She said: "Last year we held our first clean up as part of the national Clean for The Queen weekend and it proved a huge success.
“We collected around 20 bags of rubbish from this beauty spot in Chipping Sodbury.
"The Chipping Sodbury Big Lunch committee is always keen to help keep our town beautiful so we are hoping families will come out and join us again this year to tidy up the common, meet new friends and come away with a sense of community spirit."
The event is part of South Gloucestershire Council’s Spring Clean campaign, which runs until May 14. More information can be found here.
