CHIPPING Sodbury Pre-School are “absolutely ecstatic” following the results of a recent Ofsted inspection.

They were given a “good” rating by two Ofsted inspectors, who noted that children at the school are making “good progress in their learning”.

The report said: “Children form secure attachments with the staff. This helps them settle quickly and feel welcome at the pre-school.

“There is a strong focus on supporting children's communication and language skills, which provides a firm foundation for their learning and development.

“Children participate enthusiastically in a wide range of activities. They have good levels of concentration, persevere well with tasks and are proud of their achievements.

For Lauren Perry, it was her first Ofsted inspection as manager of the pre-school.

She said: “I am absolutely ecstatic; it was quite nerve wracking, but the results proved that we really do go the extra mile here.

She added: “I think that all of the staff here work really well as a team.

“We are particularly good at reflecting on our practice - identifying where we need to improve and putting plans in place to ensure we are continuously improving our children’s learning experiences.”

The pre-school, located on St. John’s Way, currently cares for 30 children between the ages of two and five.
